Brits are more in love with air travel than they have ever been before. With more passengers flying every day and passenger numbers forecast to increase to well over 280 million.
Yet rising fuel prices, a fare price war and the impact of Brexit have sent many airlines to the wall.

So the UK’s biggest airline, easyJet, has to rise to the turbulent times… they’re opening new routes, putting even more new pilots through their paces and launching a new fleet of bigger and better planes. At the heart of their operations are the 4000 pilots who will fly a record 90 million passengers to over 1000 different destinations this year.

“easyJet: Inside the Cockpit” is a returning primetime series which follows the seasoned pilots who have to take on everything from delays to poorly passengers. We follow the high-pressured command course that enables a flight officer to step into the left seat as a Captain. And join the rookie pilots as they take the air for the first time at the controls of a passenger plane.

Series 2 - Episode 3

In Episode three we meet the pilots flying out of two of easyJet’s regional bases: Manchester and Newcastle. And we join Senior First Officer Iris De Kan on her mission to become a Captain. First Officer Ajit and Captain Steve have four short domestic flights, but the tail-end of storm Freya means windier conditions than usual. The passengers are in for a bumpy ride and it takes every bit of Captain Steve’s focus for the flight to remain on course and on time.

Series 2 - Episode 2

In Episode Two we meet the pilots who have to trouble-shoot a cockpit warning light mid-flight and witness rare meteorological displays at 35 thousand feet. We will also meet the cadets who will take to the skies for the first time with paying passengers. We follow new pilot Stuart Freeman on his first day in the job flying paying passengers. A faulty wiper threatens to delay the plane and training Captain Thomas Wenger needs to take control of Stuart’s landing at the last moment.

Series 2 - Episode 1

In Episode One we meet the pilots who have to battle with delays, deal with a sick passenger and negotiate landing at one of the world’s most challenging airports in the heart of the Alps. Over a busy two days, Captain Emma Henderson will have to face technical breakdowns, severe turbulence, and a medical emergency when a female passenger collapses in her arms.
