With house prices soaring and generation rent swelling, this series delves into the dark side of the UK's housing crisis, shining the spotlight on what happens when conflicts between landlords and tenants get out of control. Cameras follow the victims and villains on both sides of the battlefield: including dramatic stories of desperate landlords attempt to wrestle back their properties from nightmare tenants who won’t pay and won’t leave; and tenants living in squalor, at the mercy of slum landlords.

"“We are delighted to recommission the hit series Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords. It remains almost unique in British TV in exploring the harsh realities of the rental housing market. "
- Daniel Pearl - C5 Factual Commissioning Editor

Series 4 - Episode 2

2 million people are private landlords, but many of them face financial ruin at the hand of bad tenants. In this episode, a dawn raid uncovers a dangerous slum property, a couple in Manchester take on a rent-dodging YouTube Celebrity, a London landlord fights to reclaim his home... And a drugs den is discovered in Essex.

Series 3 - Episode 7

When Landlord Paul Lewis finally managed to get the bottom of his Father's affairs, he realised his seriously ill Dad's long standing tenant and friend hadn't paid a penny of rent to live in a garden flat in fashionable Notting Hill for over two years. Paul is now battling to get back the staggering 20,000 the PR consultant owes, and has an even bigger fight on his hands to evict her.

Series 3 - Episode 8

A couple from Kent are facing losing their home as they are pushed to the limit by their nightmare tenant. Rachel and Chris had a great relationship with their tenant, until one day she stopped paying the rent. Over 5000 pounds down, Rachel is struggling to pay her mortgage and needs to get her tenant out fast.
