With nearly half a million flights a year, Heathrow is the world s busiest international airport - but as well as the 65 million human passengers, each year around 40 million animals fly in and out of the UK, most of them checking in at the Animal Reception Centre, affectionately known as the ARC. Animal Airport captures all behind-the-scenes action in the terminal buildings and on the runways... From the man smuggling a tortoise from Morocco in his underpants to the shipment of four cheetahs unexpectedly detained at the ARC.

Heathrow plays host to leopards, horses, snakes, alpacas, eagles, scorpions… if it’s an animal and it’s at Heathrow, the ARC staff are onto it.

Series 3 - Episode 3

Apprentice Hayley has her hands full when a large shipment of thoroughbred race horses arrive. A rare shipment of exotic animals from Madagascar create a challenge for the team when they need feeding, and a Labrador relocating from America is delayed at the ARC.

Series 3 - Episode 2

Heathrow's animal reception centre welcomes animals of all shapes and sizes from anywhere in the World. Ten thousand tiny guests create a buzz, a cute customer makes an unscheduled visit and a big bird ruffles some feathers in the large animal den. Supervisor, Anna, is on hand to deal with the latest arrivals.

Series 3 - Episode 1

Today, Deputy manager Ross has to pick up pair of penguins who have missed their flight. There is confusion on the runway when Animal Health Officer Vicky needs to try to track down ten cats that have arrived from Canada. And a dog sledding team of five huskies cause issues for the team, when they struggle to read their microchips and risk being sent to quarantine.
